I’m a 57 year-old, Italian self-made artist living and creating in Hungary.
I enjoy to paint what I feel, mostly on natural surfaces and create from pieces that other people find useless. I do not like to waste and throw things so I 'upcycle' and use anything to paint on: packaging materials, wooden panels, old shelves and furniture parts.
Recently I have been experimenting with metal statues of different themes from pieces that were leftovers from one of my friend’s mechanic workshop.
I have also created some table and standing lamps combining natural materials, such as stones, ivy and old antique lighting parts collected from nature and garage-sales.
My latest passion is to create small statues from tree-roots which I collect from the woods around my house.
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop Artprints with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
Hope you will enjoy my creations.
Thank you for supporting me in this journey,
Cheers, Giuseppe (Pino)
My nieche is Variety.
I take my topics from every-day life, my experiences and thoughts, and I like to give a touch of something funny in some cases (like the 'Umorometro' which is an object that you can turn based on what day you have :) or :(
My paintings represent my actual feelings and thoughts, sometimes around women, nature or just simple geometrical features, playing with colours.
Metal statues also vary from simple (like the 'Undecided') to complex (like the colourful 'Tribal Mask'). I play around with whatever material I have and sometimes decide on the theme during the process.
Tree-roots inspire me by the variety of their forms, shapes and sizes. Lately I started not just to clean and paint them, but to carve out meticulously shapes I see in them.
I paint on canvas and leftover wood surfaces (panels, old furniture parts, packaging materials) mostly with oil paint or marker pens, pencils. I enjoy playing with colors and my themes are mostly driven by my actual state of mind.
My metal statues are weld or glued together and painted by spray or sometimes I use my daughter's leftover nail-polish to give a final touch :)
Standing lamps are usually a combination of nature and antique, I use whatever technique I can to reach completion.
Tree-roots are first cleaned then carved, depending on the theme and painted with lacque based paint.
Unlike my two sisters (one living in Sicily the other in Australia) who are talented Artists, I started creating in my mid 50's.
